We have been in existence in San Rafael since 1868. The first purpose of our fraternity is to provide a place where men of like minds can come and meet one another in an atmosphere of peace and harmony. The second aim of our fraternity is to make good men better members of our community. Men work best by working together toward a common goal. Masonry provides the structure through means of its ritual, the governance of the Lodge and by supporting the individual members of the Lodge and their families. It provides an environment in which men can work together and learn from each other, whether as master or as apprentice, as they have from time immemorial.

The Worshipful Master is the senior officer of a Masonic Lodge. The Worshipful Master directs all of the business of his lodge, and is vested with considerable powers without further reference to the members. He also presides over ritual and ceremonies.
